RETURN
To an Address presented to His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, requesting him to
cause to be sent down to the House copies of the reports received from the
Honourable Theodore Davie on his mission to Ottawa and New York in 1892,
and to Ottawa in 1893 ; the missions of the Honourable J. H. Turner to England
in 1891, and to Ottawa and Chicago in 1893; and the mission of the Honourable
James Baker to England in 1893; together with copies of the Orders in Council
authorizing each of them to proceed on the said missions on behalf of the Province.

Certified Copy of a Report of a Committee of the Honourable the Executive Council, approved
by His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor on the 27th day of August, 1892.
The Committee of Council advise that the Honourable Theodore Davie, Attorney-General,
do proceed to Ottawa to confer with the Dominion authorities upon the subjects of the definition of the Canadian Pacific Railway Belt, the enforcement of better Quarantine regulations
in regard to vessels arriving at the ports of this Province, the provision to be made by the
respective Governments with regard to Immigration, and the unsettled claims of Messrs.
Kinniple & Morris.
The Committee advise that a copy of this Minute, if approved, be transmitted to the
Honourable the Secretary of State for Canada.

Certain papers relating to the Honourable Mr. Davie's visit to Ottawa in 1892, are
printed in the Sessional Papers, 1893, under the heads of Correspondence re Federal Public
Works and Correspondence re Quarantine Matters, and the said papers supplemented were
presented to the House on the 26th February, last,
Correspondence dealing with the Honourable Mr. Turner's visit to London in 1891, is
printed in the Sessional Papers, 1892. 1186 Missions of Cabinet Ministers. 1894
Certified Copy of an  Order in  Council,  approved by His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor
on the 19th day of April, 1893.
His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, by and with the advice of His Executive Council,
has been pleased to appoint, and does hereby appoint, the Honourable John Herbert Turner,
Minister of Finance and Agriculture of the Province of British Columbia, to be a Commissioner to represent the Government of the Province at the World's Columbian Exposition to
be held in Chicago during the present year.

Certified copy of an Order in Council approved by His Honour  the Lieutenant-Governor on
the 19th day of April, 1893.
His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, by and with the advice of His Executive Council,
has been pleased to appoint, and does hereby appoint, Lieutenant-Colonel the Honourable
James Baker, Provincial Secretary and Minister of Education of the Province of British
Columbia, to be a Commissioner to represent the Government of the Province at the official
inauguration of the Imperial Institute on the tenth clay of May next.
