under the provisions of the " Registration of Births, Deaths, and Marriages Act."

In accordance with the provisions of the Statute in that behalf, I have the honour to
submit the Seventeenth Annual Report on the Registration of Births, Deaths, and Marriages
in this Province, the period covered being the year ended 31st December, 1889.
The returns show the registration of 572 Births, 552 Deaths, and 431 Marriages for the
year 1889, against 462 Births, 527 Deaths, and 342 Marriages for the year 1888, being an
increase of 110 Births, 25 Deaths, and 89 Marriages.
