under the provisions of the "Registration of Births, Deaths, and Marriages Act."

May it please Yode Honour:
In accordance with the provisions of the Statute in that behalf, I have the honour to
submit the Sixteenth Annual Report on the Registration of Births, Deaths, and Marriages in
this Province, the period covered being the year ended 31st December, 1888.
The returns show the registration of 162 Births, 527 Deaths, and 342 Marriages for the
year 1888, against 362 Births, 439 Deaths, and 262 Marriages for the year 1887, being an
increase of 100 Births and 88 Deaths, and a decrease of 97 Marriages; and making together a
total increase of 268 Registrations for the year 1888.
