Crosley of Bayard was in the city Thursday. POPULAR YODNG PEOPLE WED The game started with a rush .and in a few minutes S. Morris safely landed tho puck between 1 thc bars. After the faco off again the seniors captured the puck' and a few swift passes and Presl found the slakes thus tying thc scoro. Tho large number of "spectators, now realized that there was something doing, and began to wake up and applaud the work of each side as occasion arose. McCo'nnell in goal received a few well earned ovations as the Seniors pounded him 1o no effect always finding that tho pads were there. ' From this on the Intermediates had the game well in hand for tho first half. Pat ton shone out clearly while lifting the puck at centre and placing it in goal utterly deluding all the other players. - Tho Seniors worked hard but found Greer always at his post, who was one of the coolest and surest players on the, field. .Now comes a quick pass from side to centre and Gallon i.s there and makes 'it three to one.. Again in a very short time, Gallon does, the trick and hall time is called, .nuking it, -1 to 1 for Intermediates. a In tho second half the Seniors are determined to win out and they showed their old skid when after ths face off the puck is so- cured and Chapman passes from centre to right wing and scores in 40 seconds. .last at this time an accident occurs, in which E. Shorbuneau is laid off for a few minutes. The play runs quickly along and Graham always in place secures 'tic puck and soon lands it twice in goal. The tables are turning ,i1 is now 4 to 4. Morris secures tie puck and makes it 5 to i. lime is ncaring a close who shall win? And now Chapman shines again and it is "> to ii, and thus t stands at tho close. Th-i playing was'good and it is sue to say there is not a motictblo weak point in the team Tlie Seniors of course are not orgau/.ud and thus we will not orilizt them. The Intermediates have ;ood material and as citizens ve should all support, them this siason aud enable them to carry off the honors in the leaguj. Jolm Oliver, member tor

people a stirriiijr speech on the
dereliction?, of the present
Conservative "ovoriunent of
1-Srilisli Columbia. John Oliver's
record proves him to be tho
embodiment ol" sincerity. ITe is
a good well meaning fanner; but
the Liberal party has not had
the opportunity to show the
people whether they could jfive
ns any better results. The
people did not appear lo want
them at the last- election. In aj
private sense, the individual thai '
would seelc another individual's
position through informing the
employer of the many shortcomings of the incumbent, would be
contemptible. Should he seelc
that position through the advancement ol ideas that, would
materially help out tlie employer's interest, that would bo
the ievei.se- ol i-onteniptible
The same thing- applies to the
present political situation.
Jtisfead ol tearing down the
party in power, let Mr Oliver
advance idea~. whorebv the
people will be convinced that it
would be to their best interests
to employ the .services ol Mr
Oliver and tbe Liberal party.
We tear that Oliver is a brand ol
politician that can only get along
by tearing l.b pieces the repu ta-
tion of bis opponent. This palls
on the public in time Unless he
j puts forth the effort to advance
'better methods. Instead ol
resorting to abuse the gentleman
may aecideniaJly be relegated to
rear, to cultivate his cabbage
patch iu peace Jar from the maddening whirl of political strife.—
