The Bull' Mive.r Mining' and Power Co., have a crew of about' Id men working steadily on the construc.lioiYoi a dam on Hull river, and will continue to work all winter. The Sullivan (i roup , Mining Company will rush, tho'construc- 1 t.ion ol" its smelter, at Marysville 'to completion. The, Sullivan Company is composed of'conser- valive mining1' men. - The importance and advantage of such an industry to Southeast Kooicnuyand British Columbia ' as the Imperial Coal &'Coke Co., is not readily understood nor ap- , predated by the, majority of the people of this district. That the company will lose no time in ' setting to business is indicated by the number of men, employed in developing and opening' up the coal areas of Fording river. In no pari of British Columbia is the outlook more promising than in the Port Steele mining division, where great progress is being made in the-prospecfing and development of hydraulic mining claims. A good deal has been written from'time ro time concerning , Wild Horse and Perry Creoles, but there are other properties, located on other Creoles, that, will soon be on the same^atisfaetory basis. One of the most important, of these is the property of the Bull River Mining & Power Co.. which is being .rapidly developed. The company own live, leases, the holding* aggregating about three miles in length, on Bull river, eighteen miles from Port Steele. Fxton^ive mining operations will be carried on next year at the Sullivan group of mines. With the smelter at Marysville blown in. the ariel tram in operation, the output, of the mines .will be , from :ii)0 to :-!00. tons daily. ' ' ,:, ' :'. The clean-up this fall, on'Wild Horse creek; is on. the whole larger than was anticipated at the beginning of the season. Southeast! Kootehay is -the greatest silver* lead producing district of British Columbia, yet in a few years, upon the completion of the Kupfenay Central railway,, the out put of the district will bo doubled. The output of the St. 'ISugone mine for t-ln; month of November wasi!l,000 tons,''of which about 1 "1,000 tons:was of. concentrates, and. the balance of (i.ODii ' tons was of clean ore. .In. the. Crow's Nest Pass we have coal measures larger than the coal areas of the'whole stale of Pennsylvania Connected with .these coal measures, are those of the Flathead' valley, also an oil field of , suf'lioient extenl ' to warrant the expenditure of a large amount of capital in development. The St. ' Fugene is a wonderful mine, and its record for, the past year stamps it, as the greatest silver-lead mine in Canada, if not on the American continent. ,; , British Columbia's mineral exhibit lit 'Hie St. Louis World-.-, Pair captured the grand prize. Should Cudahy be successful'in securing the property, it is believed that he will also take over the property of the North American Fisheries Company, if he has not already done so. thus giving him control of the largest fish ing concern on the Pacific Coast The total ore. receipts of the Hall Smelting & Mining Company amounted to 2,Ti L0,400 pounds, which contained 1.048.- 2(52 pounds of lead. ' . There were in all 20 shippers for the month, and LSufi tons of ore was'received, which gave a lead production of'ufM tons. The St. Eugene continues to be the largest silver-lead mine in British Columbia. , The ore shipments from the St. Eugene amounted to 990.494' pounds, which contained' fr2\.2'.VA pounds of lead. Of the total production of lead at the smelter, the returns show that the St. Eugene ore produced over GO per cent. The October'output was 70,1.">:J tons.
