The other assay- ran from $4 to $8 in  gold, with' copper and t-ilvur values, from surface samples, and lhe  chutes continuing from these tut crops- have given assays of from $47 to  ?6S in gold, silver and copper, so that the owners are looking forward  to increased values with depth. The ore-bodies have a strike, of N. 63  ���������\\". and a dip of 52 N. E. ��������� '  GENERAL. Tn view of the reports in circulation concerning the Imperial Development Syndicate and 'their  Camborne properties, we are in a  position,'from information received  direct from headquarters, and from  our own knowledge of the property,  to publish the following statement:  'Ihe Company have thrown up  their options on three claims, for  reasons which it is obvious should,  not he published in the inlerests of  thc owners. The .Imperial still  holds 18 claims on Lexington  Mountain. The development work  which has been, going on has placed the property in a more'promising posit on than it has ever been  in before. As a result the directors,  have decided to push development'  forward and intend putting in  reduction,^works as soon as, the  property is in a condition ready  for it. t o  nKVKLOPMKNT.  1   The work so   far   done is as follows':--���������The upper   lead on the Eva  is 59 feet in   width  as   expo.-ed by  open cuts  and  stripping at No. 6,  and the quartz   shows   gold freely.  This is at an   elevation  of 3,275 ft.  In No. 4   cuE   copper   and   galena  ores   are, shown.    In    No.   3   cut  (elevation 3,200  ft.)    No. 2 vein is  20 ft. wide.    No.   G   tunnel, at an  elevation    of   3,100 feel, ,is in 180  feet and   is   run   on ,, the foot wall.  The vein has a   strike of N. 54 W.  a clip of 60 "degrees,   'and has heen  crosscut at intervals  of 50 ft. from  the mouth' of   the   tunnel. - It is  shown to have   a , width of 20 feet.  There are   800   lon~   of ore on the  dump at, the   mouth of ibis tunnel.  No. 1 tunnel is at an elevation of  2,975 ft.    There is -20 ft. of mineralized matter here, ten ft. of which  is solidqnartz.   This tunnel is 125  feet below Nov6,,on same vein, and  is the tunnel on which the London  and 13. C. did  so much work.   The  main tunnel is  160 .feet in length.  Twenty feet from'lhe mouth a'drifo  is run off to the northeast 140 feet,  and to   the   southwest   a   crosscut,  has been run 35   ft. from the mairi  tunnel.  No. 3 tunnel is on No..2 vein, at  an elevation of 2,950 feet. It, has  been run 225 feet. This vei."1 has  here an almost perfectly vortical  dip. It-has been crosscut at intervals of 40, 60 and 120'feet and is  15 ft. in width. At a distance of  about, a 100 feet from the mouth of  the tunnel an' .upraise has heen  run to meet the winze, from No. 5  tunnel. ��������� There are 300 ions of ore  on' the dump at this tunnel.  No. n tunnel has heen driion 40  feej, on No. 2 vein. The vein is 52  feet in width here, with a line  showing 'of gold in lhe foolwall.  From the face- of lhe tunnel a  crosscut his Imco run 39 feel,, all in  niim-i'iilii-id vein matter. In liny  l'.obr at the "face is the winze to |  which ihe U| raise has been made'  from No. 3 U.nnel.  No.-1 tunnel .has heen driven to  crosscut No. 1 v������.n at a po rn lOOu.  above No. 1 tunnel. The  north vein has as its hanging wall  a graphitic, schist,   while the hanging wall   of ,the   south   vein   is a  micaceous schist.   'I he   formation  is thus favorable,   for   ore deposits,  and there, are few   proper), es where  gold is so   generally   vii-iblc to the  naked eye.    'lhe   existence of considerable     paychiites     ha-1      heen  proved as far   as   workings extend  and it is now  a   matter of proving  I heir exlent vertically.  The Managing Director, Mr.  Graeey, has devoted great energy  in lhe, development of this property  and the Imperial Company deserve  great succes for the way in which  they have stuck to it and pushed  ahead development in the face of  gre t difficulties.
