CITY COUNCIL  Regular Meeting.  WATER, LIGHT  AND POWER CO  Meeting ot Directors Favor Arbitration Valuation.  A meeting of directors of the  | Water, Light anil Power company  was hold on .Saturday night to consider the offer of the city of $50,000  for the company's property. The  opinion was expressed that the offer  was foo low, up, with the necessary  expenditure on improvement of the  /���������"���������.y-lpliinf, the company could make  that much out of' jt in five years  and still have (he property in an  improved condition.  The view was also taken that, the  city had several   valuations   made  notably   those   by Coi. Tracey and'  If-  li.  Smith, and   in the interests  of the company a valuation should  also be made on their behalf.    The  directors expressed their willingness  to sell   to  the city at a fair valuation,'and   in'proof of that, while j  declining the present offer, proposed  the valuation be rcfetred to arbitration, each appointing an  engineer.  Failing these two  engineers "agreeing on  a price, a third to'be called  in, and .the city and the  company'  to abide by the result.  A proposal to'that effect was sent  into the city council.
