C. S. Courses during spare time. One letter gives the romance of a young man in California that began with little or'no education; another tells the story of a high school graduate in Maine that found himself educated for everything_ but to make a living. Here are the"heart:trobs of'a fellow that toiled 12 hours a day and studied his Course as best he could; of a foremen or superintendent that enrolled because his ambition aimed at still bigger things. 7 7 No matter where you live, how little spare time you have, or how brief your schooling, the I. C. S. can. raise your salary. That statement iB backed with 20 years of success and a record of 400 , or more advancement letters received every month. I. C. S. Courses have made draftsmen, foremen, and superintendents of shop hands; building contractors, architects, structural and concrete engineers of carpenters and masons; advertising men, , window trimniers, chemists, illustrators, and designers of clerks; electrical, mechanical, and steam engineers of laborers; mine inspectors, foremen, and mining engineers of mine workers; bridge engineers, surveyors and mappers, civil engineers, gas engineers, automobilecrunners and civil service employees of young men will- ing to use their spare time to mold a career. Suppose you were to increase your earnings only $20 a month what a fine return that would be on your spare-time investment! Yet some have increased their earnings $250 a month. Mark and mail this'coupon and you will receive free information how you can increase your earnings by spare-time study. _, - , Alit *a -uachinEs The DeLaitte Co. 524 Richards 'ARCHITECTURAL Cartcr, Dewar Crowe, B Cullenv tZ. 'The piers, which are part of the big development scheme of Victoria harbor, are to be known as Piers Two and Three and are between Rithet's wharf No. 2 and the breakwater. The harbor scheme calls for two additional piers. One will be next the breakwater and the fourth between Pier Three and Rithet's wharf. The first plans called for the construction this year of Piers One and Two but owing to the work now proceeding on, the breakwater it was afraid it might interfere with construction .there, so, it was decided to build Piers Two and Three. The two, Diers will have four slips hree being eight hundred feet long; and one a thousand feet. s . The piers are 250 feet wide and each slip has a width of 300 feet. The specifications call for reinforced concrete work throughout so -that- the piers will be thoughly modern In every respect. The arrangement will be as follows: On the east the breakwater, then" a space that will be left vacant until that great work has been completed; then will come a pier, then a slip 300 feet wide; then another" pier and then a vacant space where a fourth pier will be built. 'The two piers now to be built will give 3,400 feet'~of dockage and this will be at least doubled when the others are built, so that the present plan provides in all for a mile and 1,500 feet, approximately, of dockage.'
