W. Carkeek  of Victoria, at $55,908, the lowest of  the Ave tenders submitted. The contract calls for the const, of the entire  structure, including the detectives'  headquarters, which the council contemplated leaving until some future  date. The installation of the jail fittings amounting to approximately ������11,-  6S0, will be let some time in the near  future. VANCOUVER FIRE HALL  Fire   Hall,  Vancouver���������Building Inspector Hubbard of Soutii Vancouver  has completed plans for the proposed  ire hall to be erected on the site adjoining the Municipal Hall and tenders  will be invited in the near future.  The estimated cost of the proposed  structure is about $9,000, and as the  Municipality have on hand only $5,000  the present plans may be changed to  come within this amount.
