COUNCIL DISCUSS  PROPOSED  GROUND LEASE TO N.P. RY. CO.  Terminals, New Westminster, B. C.  ���������The seven waterfront lots which the  N.P. Ry. Co. proposes leasing from the  city on which they propose to locate  their freight terminals passed its  third reading. - The terms of the lease  make provisions for a payment to the  city of $2,500 before they take possession and $27,000 eight months after  the lease is completed. WEST VANCOUVER WATER  SYSTEM IS ENDORSED  Waterworks, West Vancouver���������At a  meeting of the West Vancouver council the proposed waterworsk system  for which municipal engineer Mac-  lherson completed' plans some time  ago, was endorsed and it was stated  that steps will be taken at once in  the maner of preparing a by-law to  submit to the ratepayers for their approval.  Messrs. Cleveland & Cameron, consulting engineers, reported that the  plans of M. Macpherson were very  complete and that if the municipality  wished to lower the cost of the project  they could do so by omitting the dam  and the reservoir which will not be  needed for some time. Fire Hall, Vancouver���Building Inspector Hubbard���of South Vancouver
has completed plans for the proposed
fire hali to be erected on the site adjoining the Municipal Hall and tenders
will be invited,in the near future.
The estimated cost of the proposed
structure is about $9,000, and as tho
Municipality have on hand only $5,000
the present plans may be changed to
come within this amount. Fire Chief
Lester urged the council to proceed
with the erection of a larger bldg: to
cope with the increasing fire risks and
this .question will be discussed at the
next meeting of the council.

The work will cost $62,500.
* Power ' Plant, ' Edmonton���Messrs.
Sanderson & Porter, of New York, financiers and builders of hydro electric
plants recently, 'made a proposal to
the city of Edmonton to furnish the
city with' electric power. The proprosed
plant would be erected at Moose River,
B. C, in the Yellowstone Pass of the
Rockies. Its minimum capacity would
bev300,000,000 K.W.H. transmitted by
cable to Edmonton. The estimated
cost of the project is $3,500,000.
