at the Dept. of Works, Ottawa, on July
27, for constructing the ��� proposed
"Songhees" concrete quay wall at Victoria, est. cost $250,000.
The wall .is approximately 1000 feet
! in length and- the area to be reclaimed
with a fill to the rear comprises 13
acres. Before the wall is started about
65,000 cubic yards of material' must
he dredged to reach 'the foundation
levels of the quay.
The construction of the wall proper
will be founded on rubble stone at a
depth of twenty feet below low'"water,
