The, original time for opening tenders was Sept. 8, but this was extended  until yesterday owging to the fact that  some of the contractors were'not prepared to submit their figures. It was  stated that a large number of bids  were  received.  Plans and spec, were prepared by  archt. J. C. Keith and the cost of the  structure is $70,000.  Public Works, Vanoouver ��������� Mr. H.  H. Stevens, M.P., on his return to  Vancouver from Ottawa, made, the announcement that the Dominion Gov't  would carry out without any delay the  public .works now under way despite  the war situation, although some restriction will be placed on the proposed ' undertakings owing ��������� to - the  money scarcity. The proprosed  plant would be erected at Moose; River;  B. C, in the Yellowstone Pass of. the  Rockies. Its minimum capacity would  be 300,000,000-K.W.H. transmitted by  cable . to Edmonton.
