Drydock, Esquimalt���������It Is reported  from Ottawa that general contract tenders -will be invited soon on the proposed '$5,000,000 drydock plant proposed for Esquimalt by the Dominion  Government. The detail plans have  been approved by the Dominion authorities and it is understood they are  now before the British Admiralty for  approval, following which, bids can be  taken and work actually commenced  with the award of a contract.  The details of this drydock job have  appeared previously in the. Build Record, and, call for considerable excavation, some fill, a concrete seawall, a  concrete graving dock and a" number  of the bldgs usually required at such  plants'. ��������� -  North Shore Drydock. ���������  Drydock, North Vancouver���������Reports  lof a most favorable, nature are to hand  from unofficial but thoroQghBy reliable sources, with reference to the progress which is being made by the  Amalgamated Engineering company in  their arrangements^or' "the" construe-'  tion of 'the^ extensive drydock, shipbuilding and ship repairing works  which it is their intention to locate on  ,the site acquired in D. L.. '2G5 immediately west of the city.  It is asserted that the final plans  have been' approved by the departmental engineers, that the recommendation of the department has been  made to the cabinet, and that the or-  der-in-council authorizing the subsidy  has been issued. It. is further asserted that the terms of the subsidy contract have been agreed upon by both  parties and that the document is now  ready for signature. The special financial agent of the company is said to  have been at work in London for some  weeks past with excellent results and  that the financial arrangements are  now practically complete.  As soon as the full issue of the bonds  of, the company has been finally placed, evidence of that fact will be submitted to the government, when the  subsidy contract will be signed by  both parties and the way will be clear  for an immediate beginning of local  construction. ! ���������  MANY JENDERS ENTERED   FOR NORTH SHORE BRIDGE  Bridge, West Vancouver���������The council has opened tenders for a proposed  bridge spanning Capilano Canyon. The  figures were referred to the municipal  engineer for tabulation and later report.  Thirty-two tenders were submitted,  covering both the erection of all reinforced concrete bridge and a bridge  on concrete foundations with steel  superstructure.  The amounts of the ten-Tors varied  from $19,000 to $67,000. The report  of the engineer will be considered at  the next council meeting, when a contract will most likely be awarded. Wilson &  Wilson, 532 * Granville vst., of Vancouver, and contractors can no.w tender  for the erection of a mill construction  brewery bldg to be erected *at Fort  George for the Peace -River Malting  ���������& Brewing Co., L.td:; of Fort George  to cost about $75,000.  It is said that several Vancouver  parties are. interested in t the -.venture,,  but, these "names are withheld, from  publica'tion. However, contractors who  aesire to figure ithe job can get in  touch with these parties, from whom  plans can be obtained, through the  office' of the architects in Vancouver.  Ihe bldg. will be mill construction,  with cement plaster finish. There will  be a complete equipment of machinery; corrugated iron roof, and work  is to commence as quickly as a contract is let, so that the structure can  be finished by September, if possible. The proposed works comprise approximately: 2,600 feet ol 6 ft. 6 in, tunnel  sewers; 800 ft of 4 it. 3 in. tunnel sewer; 21,000 feet of concrete sewer in  trench, and 1,500 feet of vitrified pipe  sewer in  trench.  Plans, specifications, forms of tender  and contract can be seen at the offlces  of the Board, on and after June 29th,  and copies of same may be obtained from  Mr. A. D. Creer, engineer to the Board,  on payment of a sum of $50.00 (by marked cheque) which' will be refunded on  the return of all plans and documents  supplied. - ' *"*  Xo tender will be considered unless  accompanied by a certified cheque upon  a Vancouver Branch of a0Chartered Bank  payable to the order of the Board for  a sum equal to 5 per cent, of the amount  of th'e tender.
