The- location is not yet an  nounred.       ���������  The company states in its application that the plant will he fully fireproof. 'For light products the company will" erect 5,000 gallon tanks and  for fuel oil will have a 35,000 gallon  tank. \  The application has been referred to  a committee of the . Victoria council  and will be considered when the company files with the authorities definite  plans and a statement of the location  of. the  proposed  works.  The plant-will consist of a warehouse, office building, pipe lines, storage tanks for the accommodation of  gasoline;- coal^qil,_ilistillate, and fuel  oil. -These tanks would have to be  approximately the following sizes  For light products capacity 5,000  ,barrels each; for fuel oil approximately 35,000 barrels.  The class of construction of course  will be of the most fire proof kind,  and the plant will be surrounded by a  reinforced concrete wall. ARCHITECTS   INVITED  TO  INTERNATIONAL   COMPETITION  Melbourne, June 30. 1914���������The Australian government announces an international architectural competition  for the purpose of selecting tlie architect of the Parliament House and possibly incidentally additional architect  for other government structures of the  new Federal Capital City, Canberra.*  Only tentative outline sketch designs for the building are requested,  and eight (8) prizes are offered aggregating ������6000, the first being ������2000,  in addition to commission for service  at the scale of the Royal Institute of  British Architects.  Designs may he submitted in either  Melbourne or London before March 31,  1915, and wil be judged by the following jury of architects:  -7  George T. Poole of Australia.  John.J. Burnet of London.  7  Victor Laloux of Paris.  Otto Wagner of.Vienna.  Louis E. Sullivan of Chicago.      '  The decision of the jury will be  final. Sanderson & Porter, of New York, financiers and builders of hydro electric  plants recently, made a proposal.,to  the city of Edmonton to furnish the  city with electric power. The proprosed  plant would be erected at Moose River,  B...C, in the'Yellowstone Pass of the  Rockies. Its minimum capacity would  be 300,000,000 K.W.H. transmitted by  cable to Edmonton.
