PlankingLane south of 12th, Yew to the barn' west of Yew, $100. Miscellaneous. : 16th Ave.City Engineer Fellowtes reported that Point Grey should put in the improvement, grading and planking, - or rocking, from Waterloo to Blenheim, which- he estimated would be $1250 for grading and $S50 for rocking. Lane So..of. 12thIt was estimated that to improve this lane from aLrch i"0 Trafalgar would cost $200 for grading and $-160 for planking. Arbutus St.To make the connection with lGth would cost, according to estimate, $00. Broadway Cut Approaches Estimate of cost was considered providing for various methods of improving the approaches of the Broadway strip across the G. N. cut from Commercial Drive to Victoria Drive. 1st. Allowing for a boulevard strip in the centre, or an unpaved strip 19.5 ft. wide, ,with two rocked strips on either side of 10 ft. in width, which would allow the traffic to pass back and forth without interfering, the cost would amount to $1,070.00. ; 2nd. Racking one strip, say on the North side, 18 ft. wide to allow vehicular traffic to pass safely, would cost $908.00. . u 3rd.To -asphalt^the-=-macadamr-or the rock road treated with asphalt, two. strips. 10 ft. wide,. with a wooden curb along the centre boulevard, to hold up the earth in the centre from 'oeSnK diV.gged over the pavement, would cost $2,92S.00. 4th. One 18 ft. strip of asphalt macadam, with a wooden curb along both sides, would cost 51,906.00. The wood- on curb to protect the centre- strip would cost about $300.00. The earth strip in the centre would allow for car track and ties about 19.6 ft. in width. If it is possible, and we arc able to raise the funds, I consider that if wo obtain the same guarantees for this strip as we have obtained for 14th Avenue, viz., a five year guarantee, with a 5 i ch top. that the $1,900.00, which is an approximate estimate for this 1S ft. strip of asphalt macadam would be more economicaPin the lonj; run, than if we put in one strip, IS ft. wide, of ordinary rock.
