The committee to draft letter to  Roboet Grant, M. P. P. re Roy's  wharf, reported and tho letter en-  dorsed. Tbo following is a copy of  the letter:���������  Robert Grant Euqr., M. P. P.  Victoria, B. C.  Dear Sir:���������A deputation of business mon of Cumberland waited  on the abovo league and requested  thoir co-operation to secure a wharf  at or near tho end of the Roy road.  Tlifly dwelt extensively or. the ad.  vantages of such a landing place,  both for passengers and freight  traffic.  Among the many things they  said, they claimed that a wharf  situated nt the above mentioned  placo, would bo only four miles  distant, and would give tho merchant* an opportunity to haul  tlieir own freight immediately on  landing, thus saving much porUh-  nblo goods and tlio expense of  hauling. Mention was made of  the bettor mail and transportation  nervine thut would bo ours if suoh  *  a wnarf existed; also the opportunity it woultl afford tourism ami  sportsmen to this scenic and hunt  ing paradise.  It was alio pointed out that tic  existence of such a whs r| -^puldU  ot inestimable value io the'peopl^  of Courtenay and Minto, in a\\  things.  After tbeee and many other advantage* ware discussed it was unanimously agreed and a resolution  passed that I write you to acquaint  you o( our desire aud request you  to do all that Um, in your power to  induce the Provincial Government  to build the above mentioned  wharf and weurt an appropriation  for the same at the next alotment  for such purposes, in parliament.
