Once again tlie grim hand of  denth has taken another from  our midst in the person of Mr,  Maurice Robinson, second eldest son of Mr. aud Mrs, S. liqb  insou, of Union, 13. C. The deceased was at his- work hi No. 6  mine on the morning of Friday  last, and was taking a full car of  coal out of one of the stalls, In  order to keep the car back he  went in front of it, as is often  the case, but unfortunately by  some mistake, or not having  strength enough the car got a-  head of him, knocking him  down, the full weight passing  over his body, instantly crushing the life out of him. Soon  the sad news spread around from  one to another of the sudden end  of poor Maurice, The shock  of hi.* sudden demise was a severe one to his many friends, us it  wns only a few days previous  that he was playing baseUill at  Comox with the rest of his companions, and little thought at  that time what was ahead of  hlm, He was a pleasant unassuming youug man and greatly  respected by all who knew liiin,  which was shown by the large  turn out at the funeral which  took place on Sunday afternoon,  June 13U1. The body was interred iu Cumberland cemetery,  Rev. I), MeUillvray, of St.Oeor-  *��������������������� <!   Vrrshvlrri'iti   ("Imr"'1.    vr-?  * t    1  formed thc funeral obsequies at  thc residence and at the giavc*.  The following gentle men act*  cd as pallbearers:���������J. Jhlliaid,  Dave McKay, J. McDonald, P.  Aitken, Joe Potter, Matthew  Crown.  The floral tributes were numer  ous. The bereaved family have  tbe sympathy ol the community  in their sad loss.  EcRardts Were a  Musical Treat  Tho entertainment given by the  Eckardts on Friday and Satnrdaj  ovoning Inst, wus a mostonjoyable  affair and was well worthy of n  botter audienco than attended on  tho first evening.
