'The international aspect of the lumber trade was presented by If. R. Mac-
Millan, timber trade commissioner for
the Canadian Government, who- has
just returned from a I rip around the
world, where he investigated the possible future lumber markets.
While Mr. MacMillan spoke largely
from tlie standpoint of a Canadian producer, he declared that the problems of
the British Columbia, lumber industry
and of the Oregon and Washington
lumber industry are analogous.
He declared that the future salvation
of the Avhole lumber business of the
Northwest is the export trade, and in
that particular British Columbia and
the North Pacific States should work
together. ;

of the Federal Forestry Service, and
