To construct a sewer on Pandora St.  east  of  Nanaimo,  it  would  be  necessary ■< to   extend   the   present   sewer  !'from'.Garden Drive to Nanaimo St. to  provide an outfall, and to extend the  sewer  from   Nanaimo  St.  to  a point  200 feet east of Slocan St. to accommodate 3 L houses.    The total cost of  this work  would   be  about   $7,000.00.  The   sewer  has   been   extended   on  Triumph   St.   from   the   Victoria   Dr.  trunk  sewer to  Nanaimo  St.  and   to  extend   a   sewer   east   to. Slocan   St.  •would   cost    about   ?5,S0O.00.      Other  sower connections  on  Albert,   Slocan  and   Renfrew   Sts.   will    cost    about  $G;650.00. This year about $150,000 will probably  be granted for that purpose. Grants to  refuge homes, aid societies, etc, is increased from $19,000  to  $80,000.  University of B, C.  Among the appropriations in this  year's estimates is a conditional one of  $200,000 for the University of British  Columbia. Last year's estimate was  $175,000. Included in the works and  buildings to bo constructed by the Public Works Department aie tho following:, Okalla prison farm, $15,000;  improvement of government reserve,  L Burnaby, $10,000; mental hospital and  colony farm, Essondale, $35,000; piovin-  'cial government buildings, London (completion and maintenance), $175,000;  maintenance, $8,000. The appropriations  provincial normal school. Vancouver,  for roads, stieets, bridges and wharves  in each constituency are the same as  last year. Chilli vnck gets $33,300,  Delta, $22,500; Dewdney, $6S.500, and  Richmond $10,000. Eighty thousand is  revoted Tor Kingsway through the Municipality of Burnaby. Point Grey gets  $10,000 for loads, and Nicornen Tsland  the same amount tor dyking; $13,500 is a  subsidy for the Ladner-Woodward ferry  The vote of $100,000 on la.st year's  estimates for the Second Narrows bridge  Is left oif.
