The  total   this    year   was ' $36,60o.72,   as  against $21,771.69 of last year, or an  increase of $14,S34,03.   There was also  a  satisfactory advance  m the crown  tinjber office receipts.   This year they  were $8,956.36 as compared with $6,-  349.S1.    In' the  Dominion  land  office  the figures" showed a small increase in  the patents branch, which-was $706.56.  But there was a falling off in mining  lands   with   $409.74,   compared   with  $662.74. •-  | A. BURNABY—At the last Burnaby  council meeting a letter was read  from the New Westminster District  Co-operative Agricultural Association  asking Burnaby's assistance in establishing and maintaining an up-to-date  cold storage plant, municipally owned  ancl contioiled by the Fraser Valley  communities. The chairman ot the industries committee, Councillor Vul-  grew, was instructed to take up the  matter ancl report to the council at  the next meeting. The project is being  planned in connection with tlie plans  of the City of New Westminster for improvements to the cit> market and the  establishment of cold storage facilities. The report went  fully into the power available, cost of  plant and operating- expenses. The  poorest feature of the Falls River project-, was the length of transmission  line, and the difficult and expensive  route over which the line would have  to be built. There was not much information available concerning the  Thulme River project. The value of  the scheme was an unknown quantity  at present.  VICTORIA—About two weeks' work  remains befoie the completion of the  implement shed at Garbally Road yard  will bring to an end the impi'o\ements  at the city yard in 1917. It may be  some time yet before the whole of the  plant is definitely settled in its location for the winter, tor it is hoped to  dispose of some in connection with the  tenders tor the surplus plant clue next  week.  The year has seen' substantial progress made in" developing-the yard to  the end defined four years ago, when  the scheme of a-central yard was first  mooted. The buildings finished this  year are the.stores building, which is  now fully in use, and is situate at the  Garbally Road entrance, and the Pound  building, with a separate yard for  stock, on the Bridge Street frontage.
