Excellent progress is being made on the Delta group, one of the big properties of Rocher de Boule mountain! near Uazelton/and tha generaL expectation that this mine will become, a prominent shipper is near realization. It is reported that the Lucky Jack and Swede group 'in the Poplar Creek district has been bonded to' a Spokane Syndicate for $75,000 and,'it is believed that development work will be begun as soon as. conditions permit. Charles F. Caldwell and associates have taken over the Gold Cure gronp of six claims on the south fork of Kaslob creek. The Gold<- Cure is on a mineral belt occupied by five other properties in which ore has been developed. Among these -is the Silver Bell that was discovered by two Swede boys in the early rush to the Slocan country. The boys removed $10,000 from the surface and declined $75,000 for their holdings. Mr. Caldwell proposes to open the Gold Cure on an important scale. His plans include the driving of a tunnel that will attain a depth of 1200 feet on the ledge. •VICTORIA—At a meeting of the Civic Streets and Sewers Committee, held Monday afternoon, the aldermen decided to have a report frbm the City Engineer showing what amount for sewer funds is available, and what imperative work should be financed out of the balance of the 3913 sewer loan. It is thought that there is about ?20,000 on hand. . Aid. Fullerton pointed out that the Council should have that information, otherwise the balance would be exhausted. He therefore recommended holding up .-the appropriation for a sewer in the''Oakland's' district, till the data was before the board.' Date Issued | 1917-05-28 |
Description | The British Columbia Record was published in Vancouver, and ran from June 1916 to July 1922. The Record was published every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. As the official publication for the Architectural Institute of B.C., the B.C. Builders’ Exchange, and the Building and Construction Industries’ Exchange of B.C., the Record primarily covered news related to building, contracting, engineering, real estate, and industrial finance. The Record was published by the Record Publishing Company, which had previously published the paper under a number of different titles, including the Daily Building Record and the British Columbia Building Record. The Record subsequently evolved into the Journal of Commerce. |
