W. Lamb, of Toronto, architect of the building, are coming west soon, being ' expected here about Saturday, May 22. They will personally look over the site and the local theatrical situation and it is expected that the general contract for the erection of the big playhouse will be awarded shortly after their arrival. In any event, Mr. Muir expects that work oh the excavation for the foundation will be commenced by June 1, and that the construction .of the theatre will be rushed after that in order to have it ready for the late fall or early winter season. The site has all been cleared and there i's nothing to delay an immediate start on building operations once the contract Is awarded. The new theatre will cost between $500,000 and $600,000 and will have an approached by a covered overhead bridge from: Granville street. This approach will be built as soon as thp theatre building is well under way. WILL PLAN ADDITIONS FOR COMOXvHOSPITAL Architect Wm.
