USE AYRES u PAINTS Victoria preparing plans for the new militarj' offices at the Work Point barracks, is now engaged in selecting' a suitable site for a government building here. To house the various government departments now here and to leave a margin for future expansion such as a metropolis like this will require, a ten-story building of generous size is .required. Such a building Mr. Stevens estimates,, would cost at least .$1,000,000 and would be a good investment for the government at that, in view of the high rents being paid for offices now rented. Bob Edwards, of the Calgary Eye Opener, has discovered that the following sentence contains every letter of the alphabet: "Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs. The new addition will be a four- storey and basment brick structure, 40x140 feet in size, and will be uniform with the style of the present building occupied by the Leckie Co. Further details will* be published in the Record later. r PLAN BRICK BUILDING FOR PENDER STREET E. Architect Edwardes Sproat, 403 Dominion Building, is preparing plans for a 3-storey brick building, 25x120 feet in size, to be erected on Pender street east, near Gore avenue. The ground floor of the new building will be used for store purposes, while the upper floors will be made into a rooming house. The estimated cost of the new structure is $14,000 for which tec ders will be called for shortly. "SPRAYWHITE" Palntiag- and Iitme Spraying- Kach- ineg for Interior 8b Exterior Work F.L.
