"Tlie motor car places the world at your finger tipsT-makes the mountains 'and valleys your playground, and moves the country's resorts and recreation centers into your/back MAXWELL TRUCKS ARE SOLVING TROUBLE Are Doing Share in Freight Transportation Problem Between Cities. Reports from Maxwell distributors and dealers throughout the country bear witness to the fact that Maxwell trucks are doing their share in. solving tlie present freight transportation problem by their runs made between j cities, particularly in those districts where much perishable produce must be carried. Operating as single units and as parts of big truck-fleets, they are running over the roads in all the industrial and farming sections and are making remarkable records for sturdi- ness, economy and general efficiency. Many experiments by Maxwell owners have proven that the results obtained by these trucks in actual freight service are most profitable and most consistent. The snowing made in the south recently when two Maxwells, running in opposite direc-J tions between two of the larger cities, used exactly the same amount^' of gasoline, and made the 35-mile course within at few minutes of each other, is largely responsible for an increased demand from the south. GIVES SOME GOOD HINTS Now that* the warm weather is close at hand, Mr. George Hockley, manager of' the Davie Vulcanizing Company, one of the oldest and most reliable estbalishments in town, is advising his clients to go over their tires carefully before starting out on any long runs. After running over the wet streets all winter, the water in many cases has soaked in through the cuts in the casing and has practically rotted the fabric. If those cuts are neglected, serious damage may result. It is but little trouble rto examine these casings, and they can be vulcanized at a small cost, thereby doing away with 'the possibility of blowout. Mr. Hockley will be pleased to furnish any information regarding the examination of their casings. To win the awards records must be kept in accordance with the National Standard Truck Cost System. Transportation experts not connected with the Packard organization will be the judges.
