There is ipl,500,000 for the restoration of the parliament buildings,  $500,000 for a.new National Transcontinental railway terminal elevator at  Winnipeg, $500,000 to rebuild the government elevator at St. John, which  was burnt two years ago. There is  also $150,000 for the development and  extension of Canadian trade.  For Fraser River.  The largest single item is $100,000  ■which is required to complete the Calgary drill hall. Of the votes for harbors and rivers, the largest-single item  is one of $200,000 for the improvements on the Fraser river.  The New Building.  The government has decided to make  the east block, which contains the offices of,the Governor-General, Sir Robert-Borden, Sir Thomas White, the  privy council, the finance department,  justice -department/ the department of  external affairs, more fireproof. No.  "building in Ottawa contains so many  valuable papers. There is a vote for  a new fire-proof-roof on the east block  of parliament building to cost $2-10,000.  The vote for harbour improvements,  ncluding Vancouver works, bring the  otal up to $200,000.     :  The amounts for 'public works are  comparatively small and are largely  •confined to repairs and improvements.  There is a $50,000 vote for the Montreal examining warehouse. There is  Iso an appropriation of $55,000 for a  covered drill hall, in connection with  the Royal Military College, Kingston.
