HIGHWAYS HEIiP WIW THE WAR, The Idaho State Highway Commission has declared that highways in that state are a necessity for the success of the government's war program and struight- S.ay prepares to build more. This Is a logical attitude, but unfortunately not concurred in, by other state higway com- miss™which believe that the money which might be spent on roaas m ght well be used for other purposes .Highways enable the rapid transportation of farm goods from the Held to the consumer, and thus, have released ra road cars for w«"" •n^nals* when railroad cars have been .so scarce as to hold up the country's war program.
