Last year $16,000 was voted in the way of assistance in the construction of hospitals. This year about $150,000 will probably be granted for that purpose. Grants to refuge homes, aid societies, etc, is increased from $19,000 to $80,000. University of B. C. Among the appropriations in this year's estimates is a conditional one ot 1200.000 for the University of Britisn Columbia. Last year's estimate was 1176,000.
