The foundation  is now almost in for the main factory  and concrete is now being poured for  some of the other units of the plant.  Col. Ryan, of the E. J. Morrow.  -—  ..:   d_"  CITY TO  GET $200,030  MORE FOR HOUSING ACT  An additional srant of $200,000 to  meet further applications for loans under the Soldiers Housing Act has  been promised to the city by Hon. D.  Pattullo. minister of lands, according  to .Mayor Gale. The city has already  exhausted'its original grant of $300,-  000 in the 36 soldier homes now under  construction and the six others for  which contracts are to be awarded  soon. Hon. Mr. Patullo expressed  satisfaction that such good results  were being achieved by the housing  grants.  SMALL ARMY OF MEN ARE  NEEDED AT PRINCETON  PRINCETON—By spring from 1200  and 1500 men will be employed on construction work in ithe vicinity of  Princeton, according to all reports obtainable at the present time. At least  500 men will work on the branch line  to Copper Mountain, and another 500  will be employed by the Canada Copper Co.. Allenby mill. Simmonds, well known  local architect with offices in the Carter Cotton building, was appointed on  -Saturday as special city architect to  supervise the construction of dwellings  under the Soldier Housing Act for the  city. The appointment was made by  City Building Inspector Bird after a  special committee of the city council  had considered the qualifications of  eight applicants for the position.  Mr. Simmonds was in practice here  before the war and designed and supervised the erection of a number of  important structures. He was also associated with Mr. Hodgson in the erection, of the provincial gaol.
