One more of each may soon be  operated.  More than 100 miles of underground  work has been performed in the mines  of the Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company.  It will prQbably be July before the  West Kootenay Power and Light Co.  is able to deliver power to the North-  port smelter—on account of^delays in  securing equipment.  United Copper Co., of Chewelah,  which has been forced to send its output to Tacoma since the labor strike  at the Trail plant' on ' November 15;  have resumed shipment to the latter  and, according to President Conrad  Wolfe, output will be increased to 900  or 1000 tons of concentrates monthly,  carrying an average of around 30  ounces of silver and 15 per cent, copper per ton.
