Creelman & Co.. have also been  awarded the contract by the above railroad for the construction of a roundhouse to cost about $10,000 at Lillooet and will start work on this about  the first of the year. The same company is also constructing eleven section houses between Squamish and  Clinton.  VANCOUVER—The Vancouver Lum-  11  j her Co. has announced the amalgama-  j tion  of   this     concern  and  the   Main-  * land   Cedar   Co.     It   is   proposed   to  (double tlie present output which averages daily one million feet of lumber,  namely, red cedar.   Development of the  ! chief holding, that at Port Neville will  ' commence at once.    Mr. E. C. Knight,  managing director of the lumber company states  that  it  is their  intention  to construct a standard guage logging  railway  extending six or eight  miles  to   reach   the   extreme   limits   of   the  Mainland   Cedar  Reserves..   The  construction of this railway will be commenced as soon as  possible aud teu-,  ders   will   be  called   for   immediately.  It is not the intention of the company  to build the whole length of road at  once but to construct a mile or so as  needed.
