That  came   from   H.   H.   Stevens,   M.P.  for  Vancouver centre, who states that as  a result of his representations to Hon.  C. C. Ballantyne, minister of marine  and  fisheries, the latter  has  assured  him that a loan will be arranged at  the next- session of the house to the  Vancouver Harbor Commissioners for  the purpose of carrying out some of  the many needed improvements to the  facilities of the port.   It was intimated  that an initial grant of $5,000,000 will  federal government actually provides  tlie funds. Meanwhile, such fires as  that which totally destroyed the Morrison Steel and Wire factory last Wednesday night continue to occur at all  too frequent intervals.
