VANCOUVER—The Board of Trade at the last mooting, considered a resolution declaring that tlie projected plans of the Vancouver Harbor'Commission Involved a greater obligation than the city should assume and in view of that requested the Dominion government to take over such development as a national benefit. The resolution, which was moved by Mr. E. J. A. L. McCulloch. pub- j lie service engineer of Nelson, was present and went into conference with the council on the matter. Mr. Mc- ' Culloch, stated that the present water supply of Trail had an approximate water shed or two and a half square miles, while that of R> an creek might be three and a half square miles more. The utility of the various contiguous creeks was discussed and finally a motion was passed to have Mr. McCulloch take a reading of waters in Ryan, Cambridge and other creeks hereabouts—■ as there are no figures extant regarding even the present water supply. When reaay for his preliminary report a special meeting of the council will be called to consider tlie same.
