Sloan, Minister of Mines, who returned Sunday, states that the present indications are that the coal output will be maintained at such a point as to assure ample fuel for British Columbia during the approaching winter. With a continuance of the existing conditions he felt confident that production would be improved. Because of the shortage in fuel oil. which had supplanted coal to a large extent during the last few years, and the realization that this neighborhood of two million dollars and will, it is said, be commenced almost immediately. As the official publication for the Architectural Institute of B.C., the B.C. Builders’ Exchange, and the Building and Construction Industries’ Exchange of B.C., the Record primarily covered news related to building, contracting, engineering, real estate, and industrial finance. The Record was published by the Record Publishing Company, which had previously published the paper under a number of different titles, including the Daily Building Record and the British Columbia Building Record. The Record subsequently evolved into the Journal of Commerce. |
