Unlike . the Iroquois theatre Vancouver got through a risky and record attendance without even anyone getting a scratch. But the publicity which followed the revela-f tions regarding- the'" lack of- exits at the Horse Show Building will do much good—not only in that particular building, but in other buildings which are used for public entertainments and which are sadly lacking in suffi- j cient exits to handle a really large crowd. Following a careful inspection of the Horse Show Building by City Building Inspector McKenzie and Fire Chief Carlisle, the former submitted a report to .Mayor Gale on Thursday which called for the expenditure of about $1,000 in alterations to the building with a view to making it safe for aVeraged sized crowds. It is just as true today as ever, that advertising is insurance, protecting the future of a business. Look at Bull Durham. How many of ybu fellows would keep right at it when the Gov- ernment had, taken over your entire -■-- - ... -i '"- i.'m-'Z-'zZZ1 output. But the American Tobacco company knows that the people will buy Bull Durham again after the war, but they are very likely to ifo'rget the name unless it is constantly pounded into their heads. That's one bad habit of the public they soon forget a name or brand.
