Reports received by the department indicate that all fires are under control but that instant watch by fire wardens is necessary. Four fires are reported on Vancouver Island, all under control. The Canadian Robert Dollar Company has lost a quantity of logs near Union Bay. On the Mainland fires are reported near Cranbrook and Vernon, where weather conditions are hot and dry.
