VICTORIA BELMONT BUILDING Telephone 5037 VICTORIA—The continuation of the hot spell of weather in practically all parts of the Province with the exception of the northern districts is giving cause for concern to the Forest branch of the Department of Lands, the possibility of further outbreaks of forest fires being likely. Reports received by the department indicate that all fires are under control but that instant watch by fire wardens is necessary. Four fires are reported on Vancouver Island, all under control. The Canadian Robert Dollar Company has lost a quantity of logs near Union Bay. On the Mainland fires are reported near Cranbrook and Vernon, where weather conditions are hot and dry. In the north, in the Prince Rupert, Hazel- ton and Fort George sections, no fires are reported and showers have prevailed materially reducing the hazard. FOR SALE One No. 120 Buffalo Forge Co.
