Yesterday was the regular semimonthly payday in Trail, when around $65,000 was distributed among upwards of 1,000 employees of the Consolidated company. In the last week or two more men have been reaching Trail, looking for employment—most of them from those parts of the prairies where the crops are short. Here is a most practical touring
hint: In laying out tours on the map,
use a piece of fine chain, such as is
sometimes used to hold eyeglasses.
This chain is so flexible that it can
be laid on the roads to be followed
and it is then a simple matter to
measure the chain and ascertain ex.-
act distances by reference to the scale
on the map. - -
