Nettie L, the big Lardeau silver- lead mine, joins the list of shippers this week, with 25 tons. A year ago this month the Trail copper refinery was first operated. It is btill the only one in Canada. It looks good to see the Le Roi in J the shipping list again this week— even if with but 167 tons of ore. -All the way from Le Pas, Manitoba, high grade copper ore shipments have staited again to^Tiail, and are expected to be kept up. In the first six months of 1917 the only mines in the state of Washington that declared dividends were those shipping to the Trail smelter— the United Copper, Electric Point, Knob Hill and Loon Lake Copper. For the first half of 1917 the ore shipments to Trail smelter were 65,- 220 tons less than for the first half of 1916—due almost entirely to shortage of coke' The figures were 245,- 713 tons m 1916 and 179,493 in 1917. From Sullivan, East Kootenay, more ore has been shipped than from Rossland or any other British Columbia section this year—as Trail's copper furnaces have been . cold for many weeks. The Sullivan mine shipped ( over 68,000 tons this-year. of Wednesday, the 8th, day of August, 1917, for the construction of a concrete basement and a sanitary service to the Abbotsford four-room school-house in the Chllliwack Electoral District ' - i Plans,' specifications, contract, and forms "of tender may be seen on and after the 21st day of July, 1917? at the office of'Mr. F.
