Among the recent purchasers of Nash Sixes in Vancouver is S. T. Creelman and ,1. A. Con- key, of Conkey Bros. ' A. Nash Two-ton- Truck was also delivered to Paul & Watkins, Wood and Coal Dealers. : —: LITTLE GIANT AND HILL, LTD. IN NEW GRANVILLE ST. QUARTERS The Little Giant Motor .Truck Co., and Hill, Ltd., are now located in the new building at Granville and Pacific Streets, and' will be in much better position to handle the increased business which necessitated the erection of their new enlarged quarters. The new building was especially erected for these two progressive concerns and is modern and up-to-date in every particular. ,' PRYING OUT OF A RUT. \ Expert Outlines Method of Lifting Mired Truck, out of Mud. Where dealers are .located in com munities surrounded with bad, roads it is a good idea for them to know a few tricks in getting cars and heavily loaded trucks out of ruts or mud holes. Their timely suggestions to a driver in trouble' may gain many favorable words for the dealer. When next you encounter such a catastrophe just remember the following bit of advice offered by Edwin L. Purkess in Popular Mechancis: "A heavy auto truck became inired in a deep rut on a country road, and the driver, without assistance and with only the auto jack available, was forced to devise-some means of again getting his machine under way. Two saplings were set across slabs of wood, laid on either side of the truck wheel. Then the tailboard chain was rigged between the saplings Just inside of the wheel. "A tourniquet of rope was made with a small stick, and fastened to the free ends of the wheel, and as the lat- -ter was lifted the tourniquet and the tailboard'chains were drawn up to .bring the saplings close against the wheel. By this means the wheel was gradually lifted out of the rut, and extra slabs placed under it so that the truck was then easily driven to solid round." BEGG MOTOR COMPANY LIMITED 1062 Georgia St. W. Seymour 9045 I NORTH VANCOUVER—City Engin; eer Clucas inspected Rice Lake last week, in connection with his forth- coming report on the utilization of the lake as a storage reservoir for the city water supply. The fishery products of the province for the fiscal year ending March 31, 1917, totalled' $15,311,954, a gain over the previous year of $773,634. The total value of the fishery products of the entire Dominion of Canada for that fiscal year totalled $39,208,378, a gain of $3,347,670 over former years. Of "ttie total fishery products of the Dominion, British Columbia produced 39.30 per cent. The province again, as in recent years, leads all the provinces of the Dominion in the value of her fishery ^products.
