Ltd. "The demand for trucks and truck attachments is growing day by day," says R. B. Black of Black Bros., L,td., distributors of Truxtun units. "By using the Truxtun unit a used car can be transformed into 1 1-4 or a 2-ton truck in a short time at low cost. These trucks are selling rapidly all over the province and the demand is increasing. "The sizing up of the possibilities of the motor truck field by automobile dealers has developed a keen interest on their part in the motor truck conversion which in addition to affording a motor truck on unquestioned quality and ability has helped them to a solution of the used car problem. "The average used car in stock is in good mechanical condition and the power plant is ready to deliver long hard service in truck work. The turning of the used car into a motor truck offers an immediate chance to keep the used car stock moving and also to meet the demand of the buyer of the truck of a delivery equipment that will give him satisfactory service." DRIVER SHOULD KNOW ALL ABOUT TRUCK UTILIZED i "To insure economical operation as = well as unterrupted service, truck- owners should encourage their drivers to become familiar with the general construction of the trucks they operate," says W. L. Hughson of the Kissel Kar. "While recently talking to the superintendent of a truck repair shop, I was informed that the general run of repairs that have shown up lately were made by careless handling of the equipment due particularly to ignorance of the fine points of truck driving on the part of new drivers. "A man has many things to learn to make him a good truck driver, even if he has previously driven a passenger car. In commercial use, the driver's attention to detail is even more essential than in passenger vehicles where i t the strains are not so heavy. "Most every manufacturer of motor trucks issues instruction books as well as other descriptive literature so that drivers can give the proper attention to the care and operation of the trucks. If drivers would carefully get the points laid down in these books they would increase their efficiency as well as get better service from their trucks." TRUCK TRAFFIC ON THE LINCOLN No less than 385 motor trucks wene counted passing over the Lincoln highway, bridge on the Passlac river at Newark, N.' J., in an hour recently. The daily tonnage over the bridge averages 10,000 tons. MINING. For the first time this „ year the. Standard mine, of Silverton, is on the current * week's ore list, to Trail, having sent 131 tons. This week's report of over 14,000 tons of ore received by the .Trail smelter, is the largest yet recorded this year. y We have been appointed local agents for TRUXTUN units and are prepared to deliver these highly efficient trucks on very short- notice. Phone or write us in regard to your hauling requirements. We will give you our co-operation both before and after you become a TRUXTUN owner. TJELP untie it! Help yourself; XTl |your city, your country. Help win the war! Turn pleasure cars into motor trucks with the TRUXTUN Unit and haul your short-distance freight, N Leave the railroads free for long hauls. There are thousands of second-hand pleasure cars with first-class engines. We can make practically any of them into a truck at once. And it will be a real truck, with internal gear, axle-drive, the same as used on 90% of the very highest-priced trucks.
