A. S. CROSS. President. All Old Story. Professor Von Diggston, who has been delving down with a pick and spade to the stone aye, .ha's discovered a pretty little, story which on r translation goes to prove thai girls were much the same at all ages of the world. t This block of granite relates a love story ofthe time when tobacco and automobile;- had not appeared on the scene, and therefore the people had no trouble iu living several hundred years. being tied lo a woman for life was a serious mailer. South Dakota lay in its, virgin purity, not having been discovered, aiid divorces were not anions the ainuse- . ** 'meats of the day. The hero of this story, to make certain thai he was making no mistake, courted a girl one hundred and ten years before making up his mind and then' one evening in an off-handed manner asked her if she would marry him. Did she arise to the occasion? The truthful narrative carved in stone proves that she did. "Oh, Abecedad, ' she - exclaimed, her breast heaving with emotion, "this is so sudden ! Give me about fifty- one years to think over the matter and then call around for your answer." <J@e Palmer, The Reliable Shoemaker, , -. - - DiscoVICRY, li. C.
