Many Hew things h* v*e been done in  Anaconda during the past six weeks or  two moj.ths*  A new cottago has been built on  Tmtte Ave. by Mr. Thomas Webb.  New fences hav* been put up and other irnpro\emeivs made in several  places.  Smith & McRwpn's store has bre**  moved near to its future p. sition and  is now waiting for the completions of  its foundations, When it is in place  new weather boarding will be put on |  all round, ai.������dt when tha painting ia  finished, it will be nr ornament to the  town. Smith <fe Mc&wen expect to occupy this* fine lar ;e building before  Ch������ istmas.  Mr. Louis Forschener is   building   a  Continued mi pag������ 6.  HEW THINGS  Being done at the Local Smelter.  At the B, C. Copper Co.'s smelter  the new brique'ting plant building is  almost completed. The foundations  for the plant are in and the machiuory  i^ expected daily. This plant ts situated on the coke floor above the old engine r< on,  On the slag railway surveys have  been madfce for the extention of the  line on the west side, A ballasted  track has been hid across the Copper  Creek dump and an iron trestle built  between this dump and the hill on the  wrst. Two new switches have been  put in connecting the new track with  the main dump and forming a 4*Y".  This new track also makes a considerable short cut between the main dump  and No. 2 furnace. A new shed has  been built over the railway scales. THE ANACONDA NPJWS  ABOUT TOWN  It is about time for permanent snow  to appear.  Mr. E. Jacobs went to Rossland today, after a short stay in Grand  Forks.  Mr. George Brice, well known in th������  . Boundary, is now running the Sunset  com pressor.  Mr, J, E. A car of second class ore has been  tsent from the Si.ver Cloud to the local  smelter. They have also made a shipment of first class ore to the Trail  smelter recentlv.  The Skylark witk development may  turn out well. They have made a shipment of rich ore.  Boss' Majority now 306.  The Liberal Candidate, Mr. Duncan  Ross has now a majority of 206 with  only two small places yet to hear  from.
