The temperature reports in this issue  of The News and hereafter will be  more accurate than ever before as the  News Weather Department has been  presented with a new maximum-minimum thermometer. This records the  highest and lowest points reached during the twenty four hours.  Back in Town.  We are glad to see Mr. H. Shallen-  burg back in town with the view of  developing some of the valuable mining claims he is interested in. Two of  the most promising are properties situated on tlie mountains above Greer-  wood.  MINING NOTES.       ' From-fifth pa^e.  Shipments on the Mountain Ro<e  w������-re curtailed for a few d������ys while a  new dr ft was being-opened' up.  It is expected that the second furnaee  at the lower smelter   which   was   shut,  down because of the Ravi-hide accident  will soon resume ope**ati ������r;s.
