 .HE  ���������������������������8"  Vol 4.  No 42. WEDNESDAY,   SEPTEMBER 28,   1904. 5 c. per M-wlh,  NEWSTBIKE  TO START SOON  On the Morning Star���������  Big Pay Streak.  On the Morning Star, situated on the  road to tho Mother Lode just al>ove the I  smelter, the annual assesmert is being  do.e.  The former work consisted of a small  shaft and an incline about 20 feet deep.  The lead was exposed in both.  This year the incline has been su.ik  about six feet and exposes the lead  well. In this shaft the ore body is a-  bout three feet through writh a pay  btreak of from six to eight inches.  Further to the south a tunnel has;  been run iu about thirty feet and is on  the lead all the way. At the mouth of  the tunnel the vein is a small stringer.  However, in the face of the drift it  measures four feet. The whole lead  here is well mineralized and it   has   a  Loniiuued ou page 6.  Boundary Falls smelter gets ore.  The Boundary Falls smelter will  probably blow in on the first.  The. fir-fit train of ore went down on  Sunday afternoon at four o'clock. It  consisted of five cars. Some coke w_is  left in the yards when the smelter shut  down, a..d more has been going down  for some ti.ne.  On the Brooklyn and Stemwinder  work is being rushed as rapidly as possible, so that the furnaces esin diw a  liberal supply from here after the  10,000 tons now on the dump have been  smelted.  At the Sunset work began last week  t������ get out ore for fluxing. The company's officers and principal share holders will visit the mines and smelter  this week. Work is progressing on the Silver  Clfud. Much first class ore is on the  dump and they will soon be able to  ������hip a car.  Mr. Mark Kay is doing w,.rk on the  Toronto. It has a silver gold lead aad  is a promising claim.  Trees are being cut on the hill to the  west previous to starting excavations  for the slag railway.  The Silver Cloud was bonded this  week for a large sum.
