A new powder magazine has been  built about a quarter of a mile below  the mine, This powder heuse will hold  pvo cars of dynamite.  The building that held the old gates  crnslier and part of the sorting machinery, is being torn down.  Bulletin boaids have been put up a*  the office, where notices can be posted  up. Many improvments have lately  been made in the mine office. The  blasting fuses are. now made up at the  office instead of at th* shelters at the  quarries as heretofore.  A new-tunnel is being run to connect  with the thaft en the CO foot level.      It  's in ?ibont 40 feet, ar?d is now in    good  ore.    When this tunnel is-finished   tho  d>e frv>m the mule tunnel will be taken'  tijr^ugh this to the shaft; v: here it w 11  be dumped into a pocket.    It will   then  be raised in skips to the   surface     and  dumped automatically into a bin at the  lit ad of the shaft.. At the Dyr-amo the owners have the  tunnel in about 100 feet and expect to  strike the rich lead within 20 feet at ������*  depth of about 80 feet.  The Athelstan is proving to be a fine  mine. The different  quarries are now practically connected  into one. They are only seperated by ty  low walls of rock. The walls are at: %  present being broken down.
