At half past nine yesterday morning  the Labour Celebration was started by  the procession of organized labour  which extended ov?r two blocks. This  was headed by the G reen wood band and  made fine display.The procession ended  at the auditorium where aa hour was  *pent in speech maki������sr.  200 yard dash. Alex. Monroe of  Phoenix first, Madden of Greenwood  seeond. Mr. Monroe got first money  in the 100yard dash also, but.C.Wilson  of Greenwood was second. The crowd  now had lunch.  Drilling Contest.  At 1 P. M. the crowd assembled for  fhs drilling contest near the electric  light power house, but it was near two  b*f ->r* driiling* was actually b?gun.  W   Ohvnoweth andG:t).  Jjhas    won  by 3-16 inch.  Afternoon Sports.  Mr. O'Neil of Eholt won the fat  man's race, also putting the shot. The  standing high jump was a tie. Mr.  Cook of phoenix took first money in the  miners race while Jim Morgan was second. W.F. Bets of Grand Forks won the  sack race and Phoenix the three legged  race.  The hop. skip, and jump was won by  O'Neal of EhoU. Boundary Falls won  the tug of war.  Grand Forks took first priZ2 in the  wet test, with Green wood as a.-near second. ;   .  Smelters shut down.  Both mines and smelters were closed  dewn for the day and e\ ery body turned  out to help swell the crowd.
