The bottom fifty feet of the smelter  smoke stack that wbs blown over and  much damaged by last Wednesday'*  storm has been repaired and %vi.l i������ e  raised as soon as possible.  The stack was 90 fe*t high, but the  top waaso badly damaged that it can  not be put up. The top hit a ledge vf  rock which entirely closed it up.  This section will be put up temporarily to aerve until the new brick stack  can be built. The Mother Lode tc^m  will do the raising. The section to be  raised weighs about six tons.  The smelter will not have to be shut  down during the work of raising* the  stack, as the smoke can be turned off,  and escape through the top of the furnaces,  Try enr heme cured-  HAfVlS & BACON.
