On Sunday morning a train consisting of one flat, one bo-*-, and a g-ottrlola was b"ing iinlojad-vi ai the Mother Lode switch. The *rack was slippery from the recent rain nndas the train was beinpr m^v^d h few feet to finish unloading both blocks and brakes proved insufficient to br-ld the cars on the slippery track. The cars gained in speed in sr������rt * of the ^-av<* men standing by the brakes. Bv the time the cars reached the Sunset they were going at such a speed that the men jumped for their live**. Mr. Holbrook who was walking on the track heard a noise and stepped off the track. The cars passed hstri at such a speed that he could not distin- gn:������5b them. They continued on t*������eir way until they reached the sharp curve near the sawmill where they left the track. Th* fiat car, being in front, jumped abou** 200 feet.
