A horse, belonging to a Chinaman  s mired haii\%ay between the smelter barn and the railway. The ground  here has become very dangerous. The  Chinaman not knowing the danger  & o ve t n to it. One of tl- em sooti_plunged  but of sight except his heav-v -Kor two  hours a crowd of men worked to save  him. Finally a man passing, with a  si r on & tearn of horses ca me to t h cir ^aid.  and succeeded in pulling him out.  Mr. Geo D. Brice of Portland  is   in  camp.
