WANT8 CITY TO HAVE IT8
OWN ASPHALT PLANT
City Engineer F. L. Fellowes stated
.to tho board of workB Tuesday that
'at a later date he proposes to present
| a report on the Installation of an as-
|phalt plant for Uio city. "I do this,"
statea Mr. Fcllowos, " an I am enlls-
Ifled that the city could carry out Its
own repairs more economically, and
that we would be placed In a position
iindependent of the companies, and we
[would have better control over the
'contractors doing this class of work,
J who are not Jiving up to their contracts. Thero Is no reason why tho
city should not build its own Wtumin-
'ous pavements with a first-class plant
and with a good staff."
