The grant in aid from the ovemuient

There are manj things within the
purview of the council which might
well be taken in hand, but beyond thi
increases in the revenue of the lighl

dark for the chairman of ihe finance

There are so few Scottish Liberal

BOWLING TOURNAMENT
PLANNED IN ROYAL CITY
Westminster Bwlers Have hTomist.
from Several Teams to Coinpete
Here Shortly.
Arrangements are being mad. for a
bowling tournament bere in aoout two
weeks' time. It is expected that teams
will attend from Seattle, Vancouver
(two), and Victoria, mid an effort is
also being made to obtain a team from \
Belllngham. At the conclusion of the'
touraament, which will last 0ver a
couple of days, a banquet w'*i , ije j
served to the visitors. It'is felt thai |
the growth of bowling in the city
merits an attempt to give   the    past-;
time mor,' than a local interest, and,
the promises of support already re-!
celved Justify the expectation that the
tournament will do much to popularize
the sport.
Tomorrow night .a meeting of thai
various teams representing different I
occupations ln the city will be held in
l
e I'ltiection with the iTiimation of a,
league. This has been projected sinee!
the conclusion of the interhouse league ,
hree weeks ago.
